I went to a site just now to look at Fargo Flood photos, (one month) before and after. It has a neat little feature to click on a particular photo from a month ago and it gives you an update pic what it looks like today, flooded. So I opened this site in IE, that’s Internet Explorer for those who don’t know what IE means. It was on my Windows 8 PC at home. When I opened it and clicked on the photo, nothing happened. It’s supposed to change to the current, present day, photo.
First thing I did was add the site to Trusted Sites in Internet Options, accessible by the gear icon in the upper right. Under the Security tab clicked on Trusted Sites, Sites, Add, Close, OK.
Same problem. So then I noticed the little icon of a broken piece of paper in the address bar. So I clicked on that and now it works.
Try for yourself: Click on http://minnesota.publicradio.org/collections/special/2013/floods/before-after-flood/
Verify the page opens in Internet Explorer. If you use Chrome, Firefox, or Safari copy the link into IE and press Enter.
Try clicking on one of the photos. For me, nothing was happening, they should change/morph into the present day pic.
Click on the broken page icon
Blue icon indicates the site is now running in Compatibility View:
Now try clicking on one of those photos.
I did this on Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 8 64-bit using the desktop version of Internet Explorer, not the Modern interface version of IE.

After I initially commented I seem to have clicked on the -Notify me when new
comments are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is added I recieve 4 emails with the same comment.
Perhaps there is a means you are able to remove me from that service?

Hi Fiona, I’m not sure what’s happening with your notifications. I receive notifications from donotreply at wordpress.com. That’s how I received this. Checked my WordPress settings and can’t find anything. It should be taking from your account settings, try this link, https://wordpress.com/?ssl=forced#!/settings/account/ If you’re logged into WordPress already in another window or tab, that link should open your account settings, including the email address. That’s the only setting I can think of in your profile settings that would possibly influence this, in my opinion.

Hi Christian. Thanks for your input and time. I have considered links or visual aides. Although I’m not committed to blogging [hobby] I believe I know where you’re coming from. I’ll usually “tweet” a video. One tip on videos for MS Office, search for ‘Office Blog’ and ‘podcasts’. Not sure if that’ll help. Thank you for your feedback, though. I do appreciate it. Most YouTube/Video stuff is out there. I try to avoid hyperlinks for a variety of reasons. Mostly blogging and journalism come to mind for now.
